Cowparade Atlanta 2003

"Freedom Cow" is still a working title. This piece evolved with the concept of Atlanta as the home of Martin Luther King Jr. The challenges of creating a work of art worthy of the Late Rev. MLK Jr. are daunting and the extra challenge of using a cow as a canvas only multiplyed the complexities.
To portray the dignity and unity of those troubled times, I chose several important figures from the Civil Rights Movement (Jessie Owens, The Tusckeegee Airmen, and Rosa Parks) to preceed King.
I also chose 3 key elements of Americana to help all of us visualize the impact of one man, his time and how it relates to our times right now: The United States Flag, The Statue of Liberty, and The Lincoln Memorial.
